On August 2nd, 2006 our community and the CHS Soccer Family was rocked with the tragic death of Kyle Fritz who died as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Kyle would have been a senior at Central. He was a founding member of the CHS Soccer Family, a standout on the field, and a great friend and teammate to everyone.
He had played soccer since he was five, as it was his passion. His energetic enthusiasm and love of the game was contagious and brought out the best from all those around him. Kyle helped to set the high standards expected of a CHS student-athlete and displayed the character, attitude and maturity others strive to emulate.
His achievements as a Charger are impressive. Kyle earned 1st Team All-District honors in both 2005 and 2006. As a junior in 2005, Kyle was named to the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram All Area Super Team, the All-Region Team and to the All-State Team. He was also voted the Chargers' Most Valuable Player. He is the career leader in both goals scored (37) and assists (17) for the Charger Mens's Soccer Program.
Kyle's jersey number (21) has been retired and will never be worn by another Charger varsity player. A flag bearing the number 21 will fly at Charger stadium for all home soccer games. The players and coaches of the CHS Soccer Program dedicated the 2007 season to the memory of Kyle Allen Fritz.
