The 2008 men's varsity team entered the 4th year of UIL varsity play with a tough schedule resulting in a post season playoff spot.
CFC navigated the non-district portion of the schedule with a 6-3-1 record, which saw the Chargers successfully defend their championship in the Kyle Fritz Memorial Cup. District play challenged the CFC all season by chasing Keller, Carroll, Grapevine and Colleville Heritage to earn 3rd place in District 5-5A, and their 4th post season playoff appearance in a row.
The Chargers then took on District 6-5A runner-up and highly ranked Hebbron in the Bi-District playoff match. They prevailed ending in a shootout and pulled off an exciting 3-2 upset that put CFC in the Area Round match against Dallas Jesuit College Prep. After leading the match for more than 30 minutes, the Chargers fell victim to a Jesuit goal in the last 1:15 of the match that ended the season in a 2-3 loss.
Along with finishing in 3rd place in District 5-5A and becoming Bi-District Champions, the boys amassed an overall record of 15-7-4 and pushed the four year old varsity program's record to 65-22-12.
