The 2007 men's varsity team approached the season facing some significant challenges. The school's soccer program headed into its 3rd year of varsity existence and was moving up to UIL Conference 5A. The Chargers won back-to-back District Championships in 4A in the 1st two years but the move to 5A brought questions as to how the team would handle the transition.
Adding adversity to the mix was the fact that Kyle Fritz, beloved friend and teammate as well as a 2006 All State selectee and the leading scorer in CFC history was killed in a car crash prior to the start of the school year. It would have been Kyle's senior year.
The team dedicated the season to Kyle and forged ahead into the season. They successfully navigated their way into 5A and competed for the District 5-5A Championship. The team finished as the 5-5A Runner Up with a 9-3-2 district record (13-5-5 overall). The Chargers season came to an end in the UIL Bi-District Playoff stage with an 0-2 loss to Flower Mound.
