In 2005, Central High School was in its second year of existence and had only grades 9-11 in attendance.  The men's soccer program at CHS competed in its first year of varsity play in 2005 with a roster made up of 5 freshman, 11 sophomores and only 4 juniors.  The Chargers ended their first ever varsity season impressively with an overall record of 19-6 (12-2 in District play).  They not only had a winning season, but they were the Texas UIL District 7-4A Champions!

This youth-dominated squad brought an exciting and energetic brand of soccer to the field.  A deceptively explosive offense averaged 3.12 goals per game while a stifling defense only allowed 1.04 goals per game.  They notched 10 shutouts and finished 2 games ahead of their nearest District competitor.
